Jefferson Health is the second largest healthcare system in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the second largest employer in the city of Philadelphia. The institution is a roll-up of 14 hospitals over the past five years, with 2,867 licensed beds, 6,100 physicians and practitioners, and 7,400 nurses. Nationally ranked by U.S.News & World Report in 10 specialties, including #2 in ophthalmology and #4 in orthopedics; Magee Rehabilitation Hospital ranked #13.
As a member of the Finance Committee since the creation of the combined Jefferson Hospital and Abington Healthcare systems in 2015, Jim was responsible with fellow board members for all aspects of the financial operation of the now $9bb revenue institution. Jim served as Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee until leaving the committees due to a move from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts.
